Why Am I So Dern Liberal?

My friends and family, most of whom are quite conservative, tend to wonder a lot just how it is that I became "so dern liberal" considering I was raised by very Republican Texas parents who taught me to know better.

- Who called anyone names? I certainly didn't. And your I-know-you-are-but-what-am-I logic doesn't make sense. You can't just say "it's the other way around" and make it true. No gay person is trying to control a straight person. "It's the other way around."

- Purpose, how many charities do you donate to? Do you give your 10%? Do you smoke? Do you drink? Why are you so convinced that God has a special place in Hell for church-going gay people? Maybe you should check out a bath house or two so you can get used to rubbing elbows with homos in hot places.
